Gig work has a really negative reputation overall, but it was nothing short of a miraculous solution for me when I was very ill and homeless. It was the only access I had to earned income and it was earned income with clear potential for a better future. There are far too many idle men in London as it is. I'm a freelance writer and a blogger. Why is that? Well, the short answer is that I'm very seriously medically handicapped. I'm less sick and miserable than I used to be, but I basically spend most of my time at a laptop or on my cheap smartphone trying to keep myself constructively occupied and distracted from my misery. Getting Started with Textbroker

Please Note: This is about getting started with Textbroker. It was written some years ago and they no longer use PayPal. They use a different service and it goes directly to your bank account. (14 August 2021) I signed up a few years ago. Apparently, a few things have changed since then. I recommend you check out these two videos by Textbroker to help you get started: New Author Registration Completing Your First Textbroker Order My recollection: You need to give them an email address and create a password. You have to give them a short writing sample. After they rate it, you can start pulling orders and doing paid work. After you do 5 orders, they lock your account so you cannot pull more and they rate those orders. After those orders are rated, you are free to work as much as you feel like. (This is the point where I got myself in trouble, something I will address in a different post.) In order to get paid, you need a PayPal account. Before they will pay you any money, you
